For sale is a really charming antique folk art dated 1831 sampler that was made by Elizabeth Hollis aged 9 years. Although I certainly don't know for sure, I think that it could be American, and was completed on homespun linen. Images include birds, dogs, and flowers, trees, etc., but what I really love is the birdcage at the bottom. In addition, it has a triangle border, and 3 different versions of the alphabet, one also including the numbers 1 through 12. It is housed in what could be the original bird's eye maple with the original very wavy glass. The framed sampler measures about 19 3/4" x 19 1/2" with sight measurements of 16" x 15 1/2", and is in nice antique condition, with appropriate signs of age, but no really significant issues.
