**Rare Ca. 1800 Folk Art Sheet Iron Angel

For sale is a fabulous and I believe rare, antique ca. 1800 folk art cut sheet iron depiction of an angel in a walking position holding a pine tree. I acquired it from a sale in Virginia and information given was that it could be a door knocker. There are paint decorated details defining his face, arms, legs, and wings on both sides, as well as a threaded rod where it would have been screwed into place. The piece measures about 15" tall and 10 1/2" wide, and is in very nice antique condition with appropriate signs of age including paint wear and a bit of rust, but no major issues.
