Sold by Albion Valley Folk Art and Antiques

For sale is a very sweet antique folk portrait of a young girl that appears to be playing "school" with her dog, as she is holding an alphabet book, and the dog is wearing a dunce cap. The girl also holds some sticks and/or leaves. I believe that it is English based on the information on the back of the painting, which I believe says "Rev. Archibald Boyd, Curation (?) Derry, Afterwards Dean of Exeter, Uncle of Bishop B.C." The framed piece measures about 6 1/2" x 6" with sight measurements of 3 3/4" x 3 1/4". Although it displays well, it must be noted that it is in pieces, and you can see slight gaps where it has been put together, but nothing is missing. Please look carefully at the pictures, and contact me with any questions or for additional photos.
