For sale is a wonderful antique 19th century folk art band box that I acquired a few years ago in Ohio, but that I'm fairly certain was made in Pennsylvania. It has a wonderful painted tulip design, and the sides are attached with thin strips of wood. It was also constructed with tiny pegs, as well as nails added over the years. The box measures about 17 1/2" long, 8 1/2" wide, and 5 7/8" tall. It is in nice, but antique condition, with craquelure on the tulips, age and use related wear, but it displays very well. There is a tight crack across the top of the lid, but it is very straight, so I don't know for sure if the lid was made in 2 pieces or if it actually is a crack. There is also an area on the lid where some wood is missing, but it happened long ago. Please look carefully at the pictures, and contact me with any questions or for additional photos.
