Rare 1793 Figural Sampler by Sarah Hughes

For sale is a wonderful and quite early dated 1793 sampler that came from a sale in New York state. I believe that it is silk on homespun linen, and is signed "Sarah Hughes". Images include a central bird tree flanked by oversize tulips, and several different images of very stylized flowers below. The sampler is housed in an old black painted frame, definitely old, but not nearly as old as the sampler. The framed piece measures about 18 1/4" x 9" with sight measurements of 17" x 7 3/4". It is in very nice antique condition, especially for such an early sampler. There is overall even toning, and one tiny area of fabric separation, but no missing needlework, although the date and the name "Hughes" are light, and don't stand out.
