Price: 245 including shipping and insurance

Sold by Albion Valley Folk Art and Antiques

For sale is a fabulous 19th century folk sailor's art sewing clamp that is made of bone, baleen, and mahogany or similar hard wood that I acquired in Nashville from a Pennsylvania dealer. I would think that it was most likely made in New England or possibly England, although I can't completely verify that. the bone portion i wonderfully pierce anc carved, and there is a small pin cushion at the top that is made of baleen, I believe. There is also baleen in between the bone and the wood clamp, which has great form including a sort of acorn at the bottom. The piece measures about 10" long and is in very nice antique condition, with appropriate signs of age and a small relatively small area of damage to the baleen on the pin cushion. Please look carefully at the pictures, and contact me with any questions or for additional photos.
