**Early German Velvet Stuffed Dog

For sale is a wonderful antique velvet stuffed dog that I believe was made in Germany that has been in my collection for a couple of years. He has shoe button eyes, embroidered nose and mouth, and a black painted thick paper collar with an embossed metal tag. The doggie is very firmly stuffed with what feels like a combination of straw and cotton, although I don't know. In addition, I believe he is a squeak toy, although the mechanism no longer works. He measures about 12 1/2" long nose to tail, 6 1/2" tall, and 4" wide, and is in nice antique condition, with fabric wear, some toning and small brown spots on his underside, as well as a couple of tiny holes on his left side, but no really significant issues.
