Sold by Albion Valley Folk Art and Antiques
For sale is a very naive antique, most likely early 1900's to possibly the 1930's, folk art whirligig that depicts a Black Man sawing wood with what looks like a seagull perched on a sort of lighthouse style perch behind him. It has been in our collection for many years, but it's time to find it a new home. It is painted white, black, and brown, and has the initials "WDL" near the back on the bottom of one side. It measures about 14" tall, 14 1/4" long, and 4" wide, and is in antique condition, with the propellers long gone, significant paint wear, and other signs of having been outside for a long time. The man does move if you push him. Please look carefully at the pictures, and contact me with any questions or for additional photos.
