For sale is a very dear antique sampler, really a fragment, as it was once part of a larger piece, that I acquired in Nashville. I believe it is quite early, dating to the late 18th to early 19th century. I was immediately drawn to the horse, and there is also a man near a tree, and a house flanked by trees nearby. There is also a tiny swan near the bottom, and a floral garland surrounds 3 sides. There is also a tiny black ink signature near the top left that reads "Orinda(?) M. Lem(???). It is housed in a vintage gold leaf frame, and measures about 18 3/4" x 9 3/4" with sight measurements of 16 1/2" x 7 1/2". The piece is in nice but antique condition, with toning and areas of wear, but it displays very well. Please look carefully at the pictures, and contact me with any questions or for additional photos.
