For sale is one of 7 vintage folk art chicken/rooster on spool pin cushions that were formerly in the collection of Alice and Art Booth of New Jersey. This one is made of a sort of rust brown fabric with crocheted and embroidered details, and its tail is made of a nice early red calico. I believe it is filled with bits of thread. The piece measures about 4 1/2" tall, 3 1/4" long beak to tail, and 1 1/2" wide. The spool is about 1 1/4" in diameter. The pin cushion is in vintage/antique condition, with some minor wear, primarily on the embroidered wings, dirt and light stains, but no really significant flaws.
