This powder horn just melts in your hands when you touch it. Has a warm soft smooth feel with a carved tip and large walnut end. Measures about 12 inches which would suggest a filler horn for smaller horns. Coming out of Va. NC. Area and is perfect with original forged iron tacks holding the butt cap in place. Fits well to side and has original carved stopper as well as pouring spout. Dating 1780-1800 Rev war period.
