This is the early wrought iron "Easel," type broiler sometimes referred to as a Harmon or Scottish Broiler. These broilers came from America, England, and Scotland. They were used next to the burned down coals of a wood fire to cook meat and fish and toast slices.of bread. This broiler is 13 3/4in. tall and 13 3/4 in. wide. It was made with a decorative scroll.
