19th C. Folk Art Faux Painted Spice Box

For sale is a fabulous antique 19th century red and brown faux painted spice box that I acquired from Canada, and it was most likely made there as well. The "front" is painted a bit differently than the rest of the box, and it is of mortised construction. In addition, there are still tiny pieces of cloves inside the box, and it retains the aroma of the cloves. The bottom is unpainted, and the piece measures about 5 1/8" long, 3 7/16" wide, and 3 3/16" tall. It is in fabulous antique condition, with nice paint craquelure, but no significant flaws.
