Superlative circa 1850 ~ 1875 butternut thick-walled bowl having glorious squash green paint on the lower back area while the pronounced rim lip was left untouched. Exciting recessed concentric band / groove resides just below the wide rim that adds definitive character to the overall look. Darker paint is a later addition but there are whispers of the original lighter green paint underneath as shown. No cracks or chips are present. Grand inside patina that does show some dark areas sprinkled at random along with chop marks on the bottom location. Nice smaller size measuring in at 11” across, stands 2 ½” tall and measures 3” across the bottom. More pictures Available.
