Pantry Box Thick Wall Lidded Bail Handle

Attractive thick walled, bail handled pantry box c. 1800 retaining original lid. Fashioned from oak lending warm patina. Age related crack on the side of the lid as well as a helper nail that was added later. Lid has a vertical stable crack and the inside shows areas of wood loss near the edges. There is a dark horizontal wavy line located on the front that appears just below the escutcheon. Round nail heads are irregular lending an early feature. Overlapped wood end is absent of any chips which is usually not the case. Good overall condition and shows well. Stands 12 ½” tall (including the handle), box by itself stands 6 1/6” tall, measures 11” across the lid and bottom. More pictures Available.
