Special paper lined Child’s dough box was probably crafted by a devoted father as a gift to his daughter. Contents is included. Dough box showing canted form rests on a custom base (not removable) having four raised legs. Constructed of mixed woods however predominately pine exhibiting character knots laced with a warm maple hue. Dates around the turn of the century to “1930’s”. Round nail construction along with dark nail bleed in the wood. A portion of a knot is missing in the back location while the front right leg appears to have a number three marked in pencil. Inside paper lining is somewhat frayed on the top edges and has lifted in the corners. Inside bottom shows light stains. Overall condition is good without any cracks to report. Vintage miniature churn retains original dasher and the construction mimics early sampling bound examples. Cover is removable. Glue repairs to the bands along with some loss. Nice maple hue. Tin heart mold along with an open-heart sandwich cutter have light surface rust. Vintage rolling pin has a chip on the end of the handle. Small maple bowl in great condition. Dough box stands 7 ¾” tall, measures 11 ¾” across the top and measures 5 ½” deep.
