Late 18th Early 19th C. Peafowl Chopper - Ex King

Price: SALE PENDING 195

Sold by Albion Valley Folk Art and Antiques

For sale is a fabulous late 18th to early 19th century cut iron and wood chopper in the form of a peafowl that came from New Hampshire, and that was formerly in the collection of Matthew J. King. However, it could quite possibly be European or even Asian, as when you look closely, you can see fairly intricate incised designs on each side of the blade It is completely handmade, and measures about 5" tall and 7" long, and is in nice, but antique condition, with overall pitting and rust, but nothing missing, loose, or broken. Please look carefully at the pictures, and contact me with any questions or for additional photos.
