For sale is a terrific, and I believe fairly rare, antique 19th century American folk art leather and velvet hanging birds and heart pin cushion that has been in my collection for a couple of years. The leather is black, and there are 7 areas of velvet for use as a pin cushion. Most of the velvet is red, but the large central heart is mottled red, brown, and blue. There is a small hanging hole at the top, and the piece measures about 8 3/4" tall, 6 1/4" wide at its widest point, and 1/2" front to back from the middle. It is in nice antique condition with expected signs of age and use, including wear and pinholes in the velvet, and the hanger was repaired at some point, although it is barely noticeable.
