American pine with untouched attic dry natural surface scrub or knife board used in cleaning knifes with a “bath brick” or other abrasive that was kept in the knife board pocket. The board was placed flat on on a table, and kitchen knives and cutlery were scoured on the upper part. This one has a deep depression from lots of use. T-head and square nails date this to ca.1750. Measures 18” tall x 6 1/2” wide x 4” deep. Just minor shrinkage cracks on top.
