Early 18th century, ca.1700-1750, all iron adjustable candlestick having 3 notches for adjustment to four positions as candle burns. Rare to be all forged iron. The shaft is supported by a forged rimmed saucer base having a riveted 1/2” rim and a forged base that is rolled up onto the rim and secured with 4 tabs. There is a forged washer and nicely detailed wing nut on bottom. The wing nut sits a little below the base now so the stick rocks slightly. A very rare form.
