For sale is a terrific antique mortar and pestle that I acquired in Nebraska. Both the mortar and pestle have wonderful form, and retain the original black painted surface. Interestingly, the mortar appears to have been made in multiple pieces and then pegged together. The mortar measures about 7" tall, 6" in diameter on the top, and 6 1/4" in diameter on the bottom, while the pestle is about 9" long, 2 3/4" in diameter on the grinding end, and 2 1/2" in diameter on the handle. The piece is in nice antique condition, wit expected wear on the paint, as well as some small separations between some of the pieces of the mortar, as well as a few tight cracks on the pestle, but very solid with nothing loose or missing.
