In the late 19th/early 20th centuries, tin baskets were popular gifts for a couple’s 10th wedding Anniversary. They were made in various shapes and sizes. This example has 2 handles and a LID (not a very common feature). It measures 7 ¾” x 4 1/4” x 3 ½” high (8 1/4” to the top of the handle). It has a nice, mellow patina and is in excellent condition with no breaks, holes, etc. It is tight and the handles are firmly in place. The lid fits snugly. These tin baskets, especially ones with covers, don’t come along very often.
