Wooden Bottle Corker

Price: 75

Sold by West Pelham Antiques

An early (19th century or earlier) wooden bottle corker, probably used for sealing wine bottles. A must for anyone bottling their own wine. 9 ¾” long, and the little “cup” at the top is 1 5/8” in diameter. I think you put the cork in the opening and push up (hard!) with the plunger to insert it into a wine bottle (I prefer going in the opposite direction with the corks for my wine bottles, thank you!). Made out of a hard wood with a highly finished surface, and in excellent condition with no cracks, splits, etc, it is an interesting conversation piece to decorate your home bar.
