18TH C. MAPLE TABLE TOP DOUBLE CANDLE HOLDER
Price: SOLD Thank you
Sold by Forget-Me-Not Antiques
A super example of an early to mid-18th century maple wood table lighting device having double metal socket candle holders and a forged iron hanging hook. Wonderfully chamfered cross bar that swivels on the post and can be lifted off. Original forged iron hanger hook for candle snuffer or a grease lamp. There is a lead weight at base of post to give the lamp greater stability. It is very stable. Cross bar measures 12” x 1 1/4” x 1 3/8” and base is 4 3/4” x 2 3/8”. Height is 22”. No issues. The slightly lighter color of the base I believe is from the lead oxidizing.
