Authentic redware, ca.1750-1800, grease lamp tidy with original black glaze. It has 2 incised circular lines plus an incised wavy line below the bottom line. Glaze wear on the top and around the base. Well worn chips on the top and bottom edges with a 1 1/4” x 1” flat chip near base. Measures 5 1/2” tall with a 3 3/8” top and 5 1/2” base diameter. Tidy is hollow. Very rare. A real redware tidy and not the shorter stove stands that are often offered as a tidy.
