Very rare Pilgrim period Bible or storage box. Constructed with wide dovetails that are typical for the period and very large T-head nails. Untouched natural, very smoothly worn surface from use. The mortised lid never had hinges and was made to sit over the box. A groove was cut out on inside so it would sit on top of the box to keep dust from entering. Measurements are: 12” x 9 1/4” x 7” tall. The box shows honest wear from over 300 years of use. The surface is smooth as butter from use!
