One of the best Abenaki Atlantic white cedar burl handled bowls I have owned. Ca. 1800 - 1820. Measures 10 1/2” o/a length x 5 3/4” dia. x 5” high. The bowl tapers down from the rim. It is hewn from white cedar burl. Rhythmic gouge marks are evident on the interior and remains of rasp marks are seen on the interior and exterior. Not often seen double concentric ring design is repeated 3x around the bowl and one double ring design is on the bottom. There is no design inside the rings. Very good condition with just a very tight hairline in the front that doesn’t allow light to pass through.
