For sale isa wonderful antique silk sampler that I acquired in New England, although I don't know whether it is American, English, or possibly European. Although undated or signed, I believe that it dates from the late 18th to early 19th century, but if someone more knowledgeable has information, I would really appreciate it. The sampler has many images including a girl/woman holding a basket in the center, a dog, cat, deer, several birds, flowers and more. I love the muted look of the colors, especially the blues. The piece is in a gilt frame, possibly original, and measures about 13 3/4" square with sight measurements of about 12" square. It is in very nice antique condition, with overall light toning, but no holes, rips, missing embroidery etc. Please look carefully at the pictures and contact me with any questions or for additional photos.
